STEP 2:
Play the printed notes in rhythm 4 times through.
STEP 3:
Play the printed notes smooth and calm 4 times through, both slow and fast.
STEP 4:
Play the printed notes 4 times through for memory.
Do all that so you can get to:
STEP 5:
Keep the "idea" but make it your own.
Change the notes, change the rhythm, change the feel, change the tempo. Combine them with other things you already know.
